Haiti represented at World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan

Fahens Jean-Baptiste and Horson Beaucicot are representing Haiti for the first time at the VI World Nomad Games held in Kyrgyzstan. The competition focuses on sporting, cultural, and intellectual practices derived from ancestral traditions.

The Haitian delegation is competing in the intellectual games category, specifically in disciplines such as Awalé (known as Rari in Haiti), Mancala, and Toguz Koorgool. Both representatives are Haitian nationals currently residing in Brazil, where they are students at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG).

Fahens Jean-Baptiste is an agronomist and economist pursuing a doctorate in education, science, and mathematics. Horson Beaucicot is a history graduate and master's student in social history. Beaucicot noted that his connection to the game of Awalé dates back to his childhood in Haiti.
