Haitian Armed Forces initiate dismissal procedure against soldier
The High Command of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H) has initiated an emergency disciplinary procedure against a soldier accused of abandoning his post without authorization. The individual reportedly traveled to Jacmel, where he discharged a firearm, causing panic among local residents and endangering public safety.
The soldier was apprehended by the Haitian National Police (PNH) and subsequently handed over to military authorities. He has been placed under strict arrest within his organic unit. The FAd’H High Command described the actions as having “exceptional gravity,” citing abandonment of post, violation of military regulations, and endangering the lives of others.
The ongoing disciplinary process aims to determine the final sanction, which may include the permanent dismissal of the soldier from the institution. The FAd’H has reaffirmed its “zero tolerance” policy regarding misconduct to preserve institutional integrity and republican order.
