Many consider avoiding travel to stadiums or even flying to the United States for fear of detention.

Meanwhile, Haiti's national team will return to the World Cup for the first time since 1974, with veteran goalkeeper Johny Placide among the squad. Placide, who famously thwarted Mexico in the 2008 CONCACAF Pre‑Olympic tournament, has earned over 80 caps and now captains the side heading to North America, symbolising the nation’s long‑awaited resurgence on football’s biggest stage.
