Haitian football faces governance uncertainty and new coaching era
The Haitian Football Federation (FHF) is facing uncertainty regarding its governance as the mandate of its FIFA-appointed normalization committee approaches its November 30, 2026, expiration. Despite the committee's mission to implement institutional reforms and organize elections for a new executive committee, no specific date for the vote has been publicly announced.
In a separate development for the national team, the FHF has officially introduced David Badía Cequier as the new head coach of the Grenadiers. The Spanish technician aims to rebuild the squad by reviewing playing systems and integrating talent from both Haiti and the diaspora. Badía emphasized a merit-based selection process, stating that no player will have a guaranteed spot and that competition within the group will be essential for future success.
