Haiwaan box office collections decline after opening weekend

The action-thriller Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan and starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, is experiencing a sluggish performance at the box office. A Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Oppam, the film marks the first onscreen reunion for Kumar and Khan in approximately 18 years.

After opening with a net collection of approximately Rs 3 crore on its first day, the film saw a decline in earnings on its second day, collecting roughly Rs 2.5 crore. By its third day, collections dropped further to approximately Rs 1.5 crore. As of its fourth day, the total domestic net collection stands at around Rs 8.05 crore, failing to reach the Rs 10 crore milestone.

The film's worldwide gross has surpassed Rs 11 crore, bolstered by overseas earnings of approximately Rs 2.5 crore. Critics have provided mixed to negative reviews, with some noting that the intended tension was undermined by comedic elements and a predictable screenplay. Haiwaan faces significant competition from other releases, including Mirzapur: The Movie and Hanuman Ansh.
