Haj Committee of India extends medical screening deadline for 2027 pilgrims

The Haj Committee of India has extended the deadline for provisionally selected pilgrims to complete their Stage-I primary medical screening and submit required documentation for Haj 2027. The new deadline for completing the screening is September 30, 2026.

Pilgrims must undergo screening at a government healthcare facility through a Government Allopathic Medical Officer. Following the screening, certificates and payment receipts must be uploaded to the Haj Committee portal or submitted to respective State or Union Territory Haj Committees by October 1, 2026. Non-resident Indian (NRI) pilgrims are permitted to undergo screening in their current country of residence.

The extension follows an intervention by Kerala Haj Affairs Minister N Samsudheen, who requested the change from the Union Minority Affairs Ministry to alleviate difficulties faced by pilgrims. The committee noted that individuals found medically unfit will have their candidature cancelled with a refund, while those providing false health information may face prosecution and forfeiture of deposits.
