Marko Livaja's training dispute deepens at Hajduk Split
Captain Marko Livaja missed the Hajduk Split first‑team training after refusing both to apologise to the coaching staff and to complete a disciplinary running drill imposed during pre‑season preparations in Slovenia. The club confirmed that Livija trained individually in the gym and that a meeting has been scheduled for the next day with coach Gonzalo García and sporting director Robert Graf to resolve the issue.
Hajduk also stated that Livija remains on the club’s roster and is not listed for transfer, and that he has been registered for the upcoming Europa League first‑leg match against Žilina. The dispute follows earlier sanctions in Slovenia, where Livija and seven teammates were penalised for staying out after a team‑building session, with Livija refusing the running punishment and being suspended and sent back to Split. The situation remains unsettled as the club seeks a final decision before the European fixture.
