Hajjah Andi Nurhadi Mosque in Makassar nears completion
Construction of the Hajjah Andi Nurhadi Mosque in Makassar, South Sulawesi, has reached 98 percent completion. The project, funded entirely by the private endowment of Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, is expected to be ready for public use by 2027 at the latest.
Rezki Mulyadi, Director of the AAS Foundation and spokesperson for PT Tiran Grup, stated that the dome installation is finished and the project has entered the final interior and exterior finishing stages. The mosque, named after Amran's mother, is designed to accommodate approximately 20,000 worshippers.
Located in Panaikang, the facility is intended to serve as more than just a place of worship; it is envisioned as a center for Islamic community activities and the development of Islamic civilization in Eastern Indonesia. Construction began in October 2023 with an estimated value of Rp1 trillion.
