HAK-İŞ President Mahmut Arslan calls for tax reform in Çorum

Mahmut Arslan, President of the HAK-İŞ Confederation and HİZMET-İŞ Union, addressed attendees at the ‘Unity and Solidarity Dinner with Workers’ held in Çorum. During the event, Arslan emphasized the urgent need for tax reform, stating that current inequities in the tax system diminish workers' actual earnings regardless of wage increases.

Arslan also called for a review of the retirement system to address discrepancies in monthly payments among different groups of retirees. Regarding national security, he expressed support for the goal of a ‘terror-free Turkey,’ noting that resolving such a long-standing issue requires collective responsibility.

The program was attended by various political figures, including AK Party Çorum Deputy Yusuf Ahlatcı and Çorum Mayor Halil İbrahim Aşgın, highlighting a sense of local solidarity between labor organizations and political leadership.
