Turkey advances ‘Türkiye Yüzyılı’ vision and regional security initiatives

Turkish political leaders and officials are advancing several domestic and regional initiatives. AK Party Vice President Kürşad Zorlu highlighted the ‘Türkiye Yüzyılı’ (Century of Türkiye) project, emphasizing a vision of a strong state and the development of ‘Türkpol,’ a security cooperation model similar to Interpol for Turkic states.

In Diyarbakır, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan addressed the terror issue, expressing hope for a process where political violence ends and social peace is established. He noted that the era of identity denial has been replaced by a system of equal treatment for all citizens. Local economic leaders also emphasized the importance of revitalizing border trade with Iran, Iraq, and Syria to boost regional employment and production.

Additionally, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued messages commemorating the 105th anniversary of the Sakarya Victory, describing it as a historic turning point that secured Anatolia as a Turkish homeland and instilled national confidence. On a religious note, the President also extended greetings for the Rosh Hashanah holiday to Jewish citizens.
