HAKSEN celebrates 10th anniversary in Lefkoşa

The Equal Rights and Justice Union (HAKSEN) celebrated its 10th anniversary with an event in central Lefkoşa. During the ceremony, which included union members and civil society representatives, the organization released its ‘10th Year Declaration’ outlining future goals.

HAKSEN President Salih Erşangil emphasized the shared interests of both public and private sector workers, calling for increased solidarity. Erşangil criticized the government for being indifferent to workers' issues and advocated against the use of public sector rights or private sector insecurity as leverage against different groups of employees.

Erşangil also highlighted the union's past achievements, including involvement in the Disabled Persons Law, employment struggles following the closure of the Civil Aviation Authority, and opposition to subcontracting in the public sector.
