Hala Targowa in Gdańsk wins Building of the Year award

The historic Hala Targowa in Gdańsk has been named ‘Building of the Year’ at the Prime Property Prize 2026. The award, decided by a jury and readers of PropertyNews.pl and PropertyDesign.pl, recognizes the successful revitalization of the landmark, which dates back to 1896.

The renovation project cost 141 million PLN and focused on balancing technical modernization with the preservation of historical architecture under the supervision of the provincial conservator of monuments. Key features of the restoration include the exposure of original brick pillars, the reconstruction of historical kiosks, and the preservation of original flooring fragments and over 700 hand-painted tiles.

Today, the facility serves as a multi-functional space housing 34 gastronomic and commercial units, integrating cultural, retail, and dining functions into the city center.
