Halcyon launches File Resilience to block ransomware encryption at kernel level

Halcyon, a U.S. cybersecurity firm, announced a new capability called File Resilience (FiRe) that stops ransomware encryption the moment it begins. The feature operates at the Windows kernel level, terminating encryption attempts and making successful file encryption virtually impossible. Halcyon’s 24/7 Ransomware Operations Center will still investigate and contain any blocked attacks, helping organizations return to normal operations quickly.

The rollout also adds native macOS support and strengthens integrations with Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel, extending the platform’s protection across modern enterprise environments and allowing security teams to incorporate the functionality into existing workflows.
