Haley Stevens calls anti-Zionism a hate movement during Israel visit
U.S. Representative Haley Stevens has drawn attention following comments made during a visit to Israel. In an interview with the Jerusalem Post, Stevens characterized anti-Zionism as a “hate movement” that has spread across America and the West.
Stevens expressed frustration regarding what she described as a “bizarre obsession” with criticizing Israel. Her remarks come shortly after she endorsed Abdul El-Sayed, the candidate who defeated her in the Michigan Democratic Senate primary. While Stevens initially supported El-Sayed as an act of democratic principle, her recent statements in Jerusalem have highlighted internal tensions within the Democratic Party regarding Middle East policy and the approach of El-Sayed.
