Halfords raises profit forecast following warm summer demand
Halfords Group PLC has raised its annual pre-tax profit forecast to a range of £55 million to £65 million, up from previous guidance. The retailer attributed the boost to strong seasonal demand driven by an unusually warm summer, which increased sales in categories such as bicycles, camping equipment, and motor vehicle air conditioning services.
Following the announcement, Halfords shares saw a significant surge, rising as much as 13 per cent in early trading. The company is currently executing a strategy to modernise its garage network, including the rollout of specialist electric vehicle servicing tools and digital inspection tablets.
Additionally, regulatory filings indicate that JPMorgan Chase & Co. has adjusted its holdings in the company, crossing a notification threshold on August 25, 2026.
