Halhatatlanok Society celebrates 30th anniversary in Budapest
The Halhatatlanok Society celebrated its 30th anniversary in Budapest with a ceremony on the Halhatatlanok Promenade, located in front of the Operettszínház. The event marked the induction of eight new members, whose bronze footprints were unveiled to honor their contributions to culture and the arts.
The newly inducted members include actors Ferenc Köles, Gábor Máté, Barbara Hegyi, and Andrea Szulák; opera singers Júlia Pászthy and István Rozsos; and dancers Tibor Kováts and Irisz Nagy. The selection process involves public voting, supplemented this year by an Arts Committee.
Founded in 1996 by Sándor Érdi and Katalin Szegvári, the society recognizes artists who have made significant impacts on society and culture. The ceremony featured speeches from Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony and Miklós Szinetár, chairman of the foundation's board. The promenade now features the footprints of more than 150 renowned artists.
