Halifax to host 2027 Canada Sail Grand Prix

The Canada Sail Grand Prix is scheduled to return to Halifax Harbour on May 15–16, 2027. Following the 2026 event, which drew approximately 12,000 ticketed spectators and featured 13 national teams, the upcoming race will continue to showcase high-speed F50 catamarans on the Halifax waterfront.

Tickets for the 2027 competition are being released in phases. SailGP+ members will have access to an exclusive presale from October 16 to October 19, 2026, followed by a general public sale starting October 20. Spectators can choose from several viewing options, including Waterfront Grandstands, Boardwalk Viewing, the VELA Beach Club, and a “Bring Your Own Boat” option expected in Spring 2027.

Sarah Flanagan, president of Sail Nova Scotia, noted that the event helps promote Halifax and Nova Scotia as sailing destinations. She highlighted a 31 per cent increase in non-local spectators during the previous event as evidence of the competition's growing international reach and its ability to support regional businesses.
