Halifax updates mortgage platform as NatWest cuts rates
Halifax Intermediaries has launched an updated online mortgage application platform for purchase and remortgage applications. Developed in response to broker feedback, the system features improved navigation, drag-and-drop document uploads, and a simplified process for self-employed borrowers with fewer required data fields. These technological upgrades precede the lender’s planned rebrand to Lloyds Intermediaries in early 2027.
In broader mortgage market news, NatWest has reduced interest rates across its new business, existing customer, additional borrowing, and buy-to-let ranges. This includes a reduction in the two-year buy-to-let purchase fix at 75% LTV by 43bps to 4.16%.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced it will publish its interim Mortgage Rule Review (MRR) report before Christmas, aiming to simplify the homebuying process and increase market competition.
