Junik Municipality calls for investigation into alpinist threats

The Mayor of Junik, Ruzhdi Shehu, has called for a police investigation following reports that a group of alpinists were harassed and threatened while traveling toward Gjeravica, near the ‘Heart Lake’ area.

According to local authorities, a shepherd allegedly shouted at the tourists and issued severe threats. While the incident occurred within the administrative territory of Junik, Shehu clarified that the individual involved is not a resident of the municipality.

Shehu emphasized that mountain tourism is vital to the region's economic development and urged law enforcement to clarify the circumstances to protect the area's reputation for hospitality and safety.
