Halkbank BİGE project concludes second phase with STEM awards
The second phase of the BİGE (Science with Girls for the Future) project, an initiative by Halkbank in collaboration with the Habitat Association, has concluded with a Demo Day event in Istanbul. The program aims to empower female students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and entrepreneurship fields.
Ten finalist teams, who completed the program's acceleration phase, presented projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, education, energy, and health to a jury and investors. The Moonlight project, designed to help visually impaired individuals participate more independently in color-based arts through AI-supported voice guidance and tactile tools, secured first place.
The Andremoda project, an AI-based mobile application for children with speech delays, took second place, while Indexis, a micro-scale wind energy system for smart cities, earned third. Winners receive financial rewards and opportunities to participate in international entrepreneurship programs like Generation Unlimited and the Entrepreneurship World Cup. Halkbank General Manager Recep Süleyman Özdil stated that the bank prioritizes increasing youth participation in education and employment within STEM fields.
