Halkidiki Featured in National Geographic Italia’s 2026 Summer Travel Picks

National Geographic Italia has listed the Greek region of Halkidiki among its recommended summer destinations for 2026. The feature appears in the National Geographic Traveler Italia supplement distributed with La Repubblica and follows earlier recognition in Lonely Planet Italia.

The promotion builds on the region’s exposure from the 2025 broadcast of the travel programme Linea Verde on RAI Uno, which attracted more than 3.7 million viewers. The Tourism Organisation of Halkidiki highlighted the growing importance of the Italian market, noting direct flights from Thessaloniki and sustained presence in major travel media as evidence of a decade‑long strategic effort.

President of the Tourism Organisation of Halkidiki Grigoris Tasis said the recent publications confirm that consistent investment in international markets yields tangible results, underscoring the region’s rising profile among Italian tourists.
