Halkidiki: Two-year-old girl rescued after near-drowning

On Sunday, September 6, a two-year-old Albanian national was rescued after nearly drowning at Olympiada beach in Halkidiki. The child was found in a semi-conscious state by a swimmer and brought to the shore.

Members of the Volvi Rescue Team provided immediate first aid, which allowed the child to regain consciousness. Following the initial assistance, the girl was transported by ambulance to the Nea Madytos Health Center and subsequently transferred to the Hippokrateio General Hospital in Thessaloniki for medical examinations and monitoring.

The child was at the beach with her father and two siblings at the time of the incident. The Stavros Port Authority and the B Port Department of Ierissos are conducting a preliminary investigation into the matter.
