Hallam Land proposes 150 homes at White Dirt Farm

Hallam Land is preparing a planning application to construct up to 150 homes on the 24-acre White Dirt Farm greenfield site, located between Horndean, Clanfield, and Catherington. The developer has inquired with the East Hampshire District Council regarding the necessity of an Environmental Impact Assessment for the project.

This proposal follows a rejected 2014 scheme for 135 homes on the same site. The potential development comes amid other draft bids from developers for up to 180 homes at Sunderton Lane and 125 homes at Charity Farm near Clanfield.

Planning agents LRM Planning Ltd have described the proposed estate as a “natural extension of North Horndean,” asserting that the scale and layout would remain consistent with the surrounding residential character and include public open space. However, more than 20 formal representations have been made expressing concerns regarding the loss of farmland, wildlife, and green space.
