Halle Berry endorses Maya Boyd as new Storm for MCU X-Men reboot

Halle Berry has publicly endorsed Maya Boyd, who has been cast as the new Storm in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) X-Men reboot. Speaking at the Create & Cultivate Festival in Los Angeles, Berry expressed her confidence in the 23-year-old actress, stating, “I believe she’s going to kill it” and noting that she looks forward to seeing Boyd’s unique interpretation of the character.

Berry, who portrayed Ororo Munroe/Storm in four X-Men films, emphasized that every actor brings their own version to a role. The new production, directed by Jake Schreier, was officially announced during Disney's D23 event. The cast also includes Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. The film is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028.
