Halle housing companies partner for Voßstraße district development

Four housing companies in Halle—Hallesche Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH, Hallesche Wohnungsgenossenschaft FREIHEIT eG, FROHE ZUKUNFT Wohnungsgenossenschaft eG, and Wohnungsbaugenossenschaft ‘Eisenbahn’ e. G.—are collaborating to develop the Voßstraße district. This marks the first time companies of this scale have worked across property boundaries to create a unified concept for climate adaptation, biodiversity, and improved living quality.

The project has secured approximately 500,000 euros from the federal KoMoNa funding program. Planned improvements include increased greenery, new tree plantings, and natural structures designed to provide shade, mitigate heat island effects, and manage heavy rainfall. The initiative also aims to enhance pedestrian connections and overall recreational value within the urban area.
