Halloween 2026 celebrations and cultural perspectives in Vietnam

Halloween 2026 is being observed globally and in Vietnam, featuring diverse activities such as costume parties, pumpkin carving, and trick-or-treating. In Vietnam, the festival has become increasingly popular among youth, manifesting in themed decorations at shopping centers, schools, and entertainment venues.

Various cultural and social perspectives surround the holiday. Some discussions focus on the religious implications for Vietnamese Catholics, noting the proximity of Halloween to All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Meanwhile, others highlight the festival as a platform for creative expression, such as events at FAHASA Tan Dinh bookstore that integrate Vietnamese folklore into spooky themes.

Public health experts advise caution regarding safety during celebrations. Recommendations include using reputable cosmetic products to avoid skin irritation, especially for children, and ensuring costumes are practical to prevent trips and falls. Commercial events, such as the SiuKay Halloween Festival, are also hosting large-scale music performances and activities aimed at setting local records for costume participation.
