Halloween popularity grows in Lithuania, Rimi survey finds
A survey conducted by Rimi Lietuva indicates that Halloween is becoming increasingly recognized in Lithuania. According to the study of 225 respondents, 33 percent of participants noted that Halloween is being celebrated more frequently in their circles compared to previous years.
Approximately 27 percent of those surveyed plan to celebrate or mark the occasion this year, with popular activities including pumpkin carving, themed movie nights, and home decoration. While the holiday is gaining traction, the traditional ‘trick or treat’ custom has not yet become a standard practice; 42 percent of respondents reported that children have never visited their homes asking for sweets.
Luka Lesauskaitė-Remeikė, head of public relations at Rimi Lietuva, stated that the holiday is finding its place alongside other autumn festivities, often manifesting as low-key activities rather than large, complex celebrations.
