Halluminate raises $30 million to advance AI for professional knowledge work
Halluminate has raised $30 million in a Series A funding round led by Oak HC/FT. The investment, which includes participation from Y Combinator, Orange Collective, FT Partners, and Heavybit, brings the company’s total capital raised to $38.5 million.
The data research lab focuses on developing reinforcement-learning environments and benchmarks designed to improve artificial intelligence performance in professional knowledge work. While current AI models excel at tasks with verifiable answers, Halluminate aims to address challenges in complex areas requiring judgment and nuance, such as building financial models, creating client-ready presentations, and performing strategic analyses.
Halluminate has already scaled reinforcement-learning environments with four of the five leading closed-source U.S. AI labs. The company recently released ‘Westworld Due Diligence’, a benchmark that tests AI systems on realistic financial tasks. While initially focusing on financial services, Halluminate plans to expand its technology into consulting, insurance, and operations.
