Halmstad University honors researchers for healthcare innovation
Professors Jens Nygren and Petra Svedberg have been awarded Halmstad University’s Prize for Collaboration and Innovation. The award recognizes their long-term efforts in building an organization focused on information-driven healthcare and the implementation of health innovations.
Over their 16-year tenure at the university, the researchers expanded their focus from mental health interventions to include healthcare development, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. Their work is designed to address real-world needs by collaborating with regions, municipalities, and private companies, including Region Halland.
Both professors hold leadership roles in significant initiatives, including the National Graduate School in Health Innovation and the CAISR Health research profile. Svedberg leads the Information-Driven Care (IDC) research program, while Nygren serves as the collaboration manager for the graduate school and a focus area leader for health innovation.
