Halo: Campaign Evolved set for July 28, 2026 multi‑platform release

Microsoft unveiled Halo: Campaign Evolved, a full remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign built with Unreal Engine 5. The game will launch on July 28, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, and will be available day‑one on Xbox Game Pass.

The remake retains the classic ten‑mission story while adding a new three‑mission pre‑quel arc called Operation METEORITE, which follows Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson a year before the original events. The update adds high‑definition visuals, refreshed cinematics, re‑recorded dialogue, expanded weapon and vehicle arsenals, and optional “Skulls” modifiers. Players can experience the campaign solo, in local split‑screen for two, or online co‑op for up to four, with cross‑play and shared progression.

Premium and Collector’s Editions launch early on July 23 with five days of access, extra armor and weapon skins, a digital artbook, and, for the Collector’s Edition, physical collectibles such as a 12‑inch Master Chief statue, LED Cortana chip and steel‑book. No multiplayer component is included.
