Halo Studios corrected earlier misinformation about Halo: Campaign Evolved’s local split‑screen mode. The developer clarified that a PlayStation Plus subscription is **not** needed for local co‑op on PS5; each player only needs a PlayStation account linked to a Microsoft account.

A Microsoft account and Xbox Gamertag are required for all players, regardless of platform (Xbox Series X|S, PS5, or Steam). On PS5, both participants must have separate PlayStation accounts, each linked to its own Microsoft account, while on Xbox both must have distinct Microsoft accounts. Online co‑op still requires an active PlayStation Plus subscription on PlayStation or an Xbox Game Pass subscription on Xbox.

The game launches on July 28, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC, with a Digital Premium pre‑order offering early access from July 23.
