Halo: Campaign Evolved adds 42 Skulls, Remix mode and 4‑player co‑op for July launch

Microsoft confirmed that Halo: Campaign Evolved, a campaign‑only remake of the original Halo, will launch on July 28, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. The release introduces a new Skulls system with 42 collectible modifiers—three hidden in each mission—that alter gameplay, visual effects and even camera perspective. An all‑new Campaign Remix mode randomises weapons, enemy behaviour and level encounters, allowing players to experience a fresh run each time. Multiplayer support expands to online co‑op for up to four players across platforms, with local two‑player split‑screen also available. Premium and Collector’s Editions provide early‑access five days before launch and include physical goodies such as a 12‑inch Master Chief statue, steel‑book, art prints and a re‑imagined manual. The latest trailer showcased skulls like Grunt Birthday Party, Bandana (infinite ammo) and Perspective (third‑person view), highlighting the emphasis on replayability. The game aims to blend nostalgic content with modern flexibility for both longtime fans and newcomers.
