Halo Studios advances next mainline game and Halo 3 remake

Halo Studios, the internal development arm of Xbox Game Studios, is actively working on the next mainline Halo campaign, internally referred to as “Halo Next.” A recent job listing for a Narrative Design Director confirmed the project, and reports note that writer Joseph Staten’s earlier vision for a sequel to Halo Infinite did not prioritize the Flood, focusing instead on the Endless as the new threat. The studio’s direction on whether to bring back the Flood remains uncertain.

In addition to the new campaign, Halo Studios is reportedly preparing remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3. The Halo 3 remake could align with the franchise’s 20th anniversary in 2027, offering a refreshed version of the classic title.
