Halo Studios announces release of Campaign Evolved remake and cancels Project Ekur multiplayer
Halo Studios confirmed that the planned multiplayer title Project Ekur has been officially cancelled. The project, originally a prototype built on Unreal Engine 5 to test Halo assets and featuring Spartans and Elites with full customization, will not see further development.
Separately, the studio announced that Halo: Campaign Evolved, a full remake of the original Bungie classic, has reached the "Gold" stage of development and is scheduled for worldwide release on 28 July 2026. The remake aims to modernize the classic’s visuals and gameplay for current-generation consoles and is part of Xbox’s broader strategy to revitalize the Halo franchise.
