Halo Studios Has No New Campaign or Multiplayer Projects
Multiple reports from gaming insider Rebs Gaming say Halo Studios currently has no active development on a new Halo campaign or multiplayer title. The studio’s planned multiplayer project, codenamed Project Ekur, and a new campaign were reportedly cancelled, leaving only the upcoming remake Halo: Campaign Evolved in production. The game is set to launch worldwide on July 28 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, and may receive post‑launch DLC, though no official confirmation has been given by Microsoft or the studio.
The cancellation follows a broader restructuring that saw Halo Studios shift to Unreal Engine 5 and rename from 343 Industries. The studio is also rumored to be considering additional layoffs within the next year, adding uncertainty to the future of the Halo franchise.
