Halsnæs Municipality leaks sensitive personal data twice

Halsnæs Municipality has admitted to leaking sensitive personal information on two separate occasions. A citizen requesting access to documents regarding a roadwork case was twice sent materials containing confidential data, including CPR numbers, addresses, and medical histories.

Martin Kjellberg Ishøy, Head of Management Support and Communication in Halsnæs, described the incident as a ‘regrettable human error’ rather than a systemic failure. The municipality has apologized to the affected citizen, reported the breach to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), and notified the individuals whose data was compromised.
