Haltern am See hosts ecumenical Faith Week

Haltern am See is hosting an ecumenical Faith Week from September 12 to 20, themed ‘Against the Stream’. The event features a diverse program including workshops, interfaith prayer, and services involving the Catholic, Protestant, and New Apostolic churches, as well as local sports associations and community initiatives.

Key highlights include an intercultural festival, a youth service, and a discussion featuring ZDF ‘heute journal’ presenter Stefan Leifert interviewing politician Wolfgang Bosbach. Pastor Michael Ostholthoff noted that the week aims to explore spiritual questions and the role of the church in a changing society.

Due to the festivities taking place around the marketplace, the local weekly market will temporarily relocate to Kardinal-Graf-von-Galen-Park on Tuesday, September 15, and Friday, September 18. The market will maintain its usual hours from 8:00 to 13:00 before returning to its regular location on September 22.
