Haluk Levent accused of crypto fraud and deception of US resident
Turkish singer and Ahbap charity founder Haluk Levent is under investigation for allegedly defrauding U.S. resident Sevda Kurt of about 90 million Turkish lira. Kurt says she purchased a cryptocurrency called HLK on Levent’s promise to clear his debts, after which the coin was blocked by Levent. Messages revealed that crypto donations raised for earthquake relief were not transferred to Ahbap’s accounts but were instead offset against Levent’s personal liabilities.
WhatsApp exchanges between Levent’s assistant Yeliz Kaya and Kurt show promises of weekly payments of US $400‑500 k on Fridays that never materialised, and a marriage promise if Kurt covered the debts. The scandal has prompted a formal probe of Ahbap’s finances and digital forensic analysis of Kurt’s phone recordings.
