Haluk Levent's Ahbap Association embroiled in villa fraud probe
Turkish authorities have opened a criminal investigation into the Ahbap Association and its founder, singer Haluk Levent, over alleged illegal transfers of ten villas in Pınarhisar, Kırklareli. Contractor Orhan İnan, who says he was not paid for the properties, was detained and suffered a heart attack while in court.
Prosecutors say the scheme involved a claimed €400 million foreign fund, with intermediaries Emin Arat and Nejdet Kuy allegedly offering to sell the villas to the association in exchange for checks. Documents reveal a plan to first transfer the villas to Levent’s assistant Yeliz Kaya for 14.5 million TL, then move the assets to Ahbap for a higher valuation, allegedly to boost the charity’s financial turnover. Levent is reported to have intervened personally, insisting he does not acquire property by force.
