Haluk Levent's Instagram account restricted in Turkey
Turkish artist and founder of the Ahbap Association, Haluk Levent, has had his Instagram account restricted in Turkey. The decision was made on the grounds of protecting national security and public order. While the restriction is in place, Instagram has not yet made the account invisible to users within the country.
This follows a previous restriction on Levent’s X account, which has approximately 9 million followers. That account was restricted under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651 on July 20, 2026, and was subsequently made inaccessible in Turkey by X on July 22.
The social media restrictions are linked to an ongoing investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the Ahbap Association. The investigation includes several branches: the management of real estate purchases and transfers involving certain companies, the handling of property transfers to Yeliz Kaya, and the circulation and collection processes of checks issued by the association.
