Hamad Port handles 90,000 metric tons of grain to bolster Qatar food security

Hamad Port handled over 90,000 metric tons of grain between May and July 2026, supporting Qatar’s food security and domestic market stability. The port serves as a critical maritime gateway, utilizing specialized facilities for the storage, processing, and packaging of food commodities to streamline distribution.

With an annual design capacity of 7.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) and connections to more than 100 maritime destinations worldwide, the port is positioned to accommodate future growth in trade and transshipment. Operations are managed through a 24/7 integrated system that tracks vessel, container, and truck movements.

Effective cargo flow is maintained through coordination between Mwani Qatar and several government and industry partners, including the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the General Authority of Customs, and Qatar Navigation (Milaha).
