Hamas delegation concludes visit to Iran to discuss Gaza and West Bank
A leadership delegation from Hamas, headed by Bassem Naim, head of the Arab and Islamic Relations Office, has concluded a visit to Iran. During the visit, the delegation held a series of meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials, including Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The discussions focused on the latest political and field developments regarding the Palestinian cause, specifically the situations in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, as well as the status of Palestinian prisoners. The delegation briefed Iranian officials on the humanitarian suffering in Gaza and increased tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Furthermore, the delegation discussed the roadmap reached with mediators and Peace Council representatives for implementing the second phase of a potential agreement. Hamas expressed its commitment to these understandings while accusing Israel of evading its obligations. The delegation emphasized the need for international action to compel Israel to implement the agreement, stop hostilities, and allow for the reconstruction of Gaza and a full Israeli withdrawal.
