Hamas denies kidnapping claims and affirms Gaza ceasefire roadmap

Hamas has denied Israeli allegations regarding plans to kidnap soldiers, asserting its commitment to the ceasefire agreement established under the October 2025 plan. The group accused Israel of preparing for renewed aggression targeting civilian and governmental infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

In response to threats from Israeli Security Minister Israel Katz—who warned of evacuating Gaza City if an Israeli citizen or soldier is captured—Hamas has called for the immediate formation of an agreed-upon verification committee to prevent Israeli claims from being used as justifications for military violations.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem stated that the movement is fully prepared to implement the agreed-upon roadmap for Gaza, which includes an Israeli withdrawal and the deployment of international forces. Qasem blamed the Israeli government for obstructing the ceasefire and urged the U.S. administration and the Peace Council to facilitate the entry of a technocratic committee to manage the Gaza Strip.
