Hamas leader Gazi Hamad calls for enforcement of ceasefire agreement
Hamas leader Gazi Hamad has called for serious Arab, Islamic, and international action to compel Israel to adhere to a ceasefire agreement. Speaking in an interview on Al Jazeera, Hamad stated that the Palestinian people have faced mass killings even during previous periods of ceasefire.
Hamad criticized the international community's response to the situation in the Gaza Strip, describing it as a ‘stain on the conscience of the international community.’ He argued that Israel prefers a state of war and destruction, which destabilizes the broader region, including the West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria.
Regarding negotiations, Hamad emphasized that Hamas has made significant concessions and worked extensively with mediators and the United States to reach an agreement. He placed the responsibility on the sponsoring parties, particularly the U.S. administration, to ensure the agreement is implemented and to prevent the collapse of efforts to end the conflict.
