Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya approves mediator-proposed roadmap
Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Hamas political bureau, has announced the movement's approval of a roadmap proposed by mediators, including Madadinov. The plan is designed to begin with the completion of the first phase of the Gaza agreement and conclude with the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Al-Hayya called for the international community to ensure Israel implements this roadmap as a “single package.” He emphasized that the Palestinian people are facing challenges including displacement, starvation, and what he described as genocide in the Gaza Strip, as well as increased tensions and settlement activity in the West Bank.
Regarding diplomatic efforts, al-Hayya noted that Hamas has held multiple meetings with US officials to present Palestinian demands. He stated that these interactions have shown a level of understanding from the American side, which he characterized as positive, though he stressed that such understanding must translate into concrete actions.
