Hamas ready to implement Gaza roadmap, accuses Israel of blocking ceasefire

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated that the group is prepared to implement a Gaza roadmap agreed upon with the Security Council. Qassem asserted that Hamas has taken all necessary steps to comply with the plan but accused the Israeli government of obstructing the implementation of the roadmap and a potential ceasefire.

The 15-point roadmap, announced in July, includes the disarmament of Hamas and other Palestinian groups, the transfer of Gaza's administration to a Palestinian national committee, and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli military forces. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the plan in August, insisting that full disarmament must occur before any military withdrawal.

Hamas has called for international pressure on Israel to fulfill the agreement and has urged the United States and the Security Council to facilitate the entry of a technocratic committee into the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the group requested the deployment of international forces as stipulated in the ceasefire and roadmap provisions.
