Hambre Cero program integrates 721 MSMEs into supply chain

The Paraguayan Ministry of Industry and Commerce reported that 721 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) have been integrated into the ‘Hambre Cero’ school feeding program between August 2024 and June 2026.

In the first half of 2026 alone, 182 new companies joined the initiative, consisting of 104 micro-enterprises, 63 small businesses, and 15 medium-sized companies. These new participants generated a combined turnover exceeding G. 74,500 million by providing goods and services related to the program.

The program aims to ensure quality school nutrition while incorporating national producers and family farming into formal supply chains. Geographically, 31% of the new companies added in 2026 are located in Alto Paraná, followed by the departments of Central and Caaguazú.
