Hambueysería Amaren wins top patatas bravas honors in Basque Country

Hambueysería Amaren, located in Bilbao, has achieved a significant milestone in the VII Palencia Brava 2026 International Contest. Their signature creation, ‘Buey Bravo’, was named the best patatas bravas in the Basque Country.

Chefs Aitor del Olmo and Manuel Gómez led the entry, which was the only candidate from the Basque Autonomous Community to qualify for the international final. This achievement places the Bilbao-based establishment among the top 18 bravas chefs globally. The dish is characterized by a crispy exterior, a tender interior, and a sauce enriched with long-aged beef stock.
