Hamburg A1 motorway closed in both directions
The A1 motorway in Hamburg is fully closed in both directions between Dreieck Norderelbe and Kreuz Hamburg-Ost. The closure began on Friday evening and is scheduled to last until Monday, October 12, at 5:00 AM.
Autobahn GmbH is conducting bridge inspections and maintenance on 52 structures to ensure the continued use of the Norderelbbrücke until a replacement is built. The closure also facilitates maintenance and cleaning work by the Autobahnmeisterei and planned works by Deutsche Bahn at the Moorfleet Tunnel.
Drivers are advised to bypass Hamburg for long-distance travel. Recommended detours for regional traffic from the north include using the A20 and B206 via Lübeck to reach the A7. Traffic from the south is advised to use the A261 from Buchholzer Dreieck toward the A7. Within the city, alternative routes include the A255, Billhorner Brückenstraße, and the B75 Elbbrücken.
