Hamburg Airport invests 1.7 million euros in hybrid check-in counters
Hamburg Airport is investing approximately 1.7 million euros to upgrade its check-in facilities by adding 22 new hybrid counters. These counters will allow airlines to choose between staffed service and fully automated passenger check-in. The expansion includes 14 new hybrid counters in Terminal 1 and eight in Terminal 2.
The airport is also implementing a new multilingual announcement system at gates, providing information in German, English, French, Italian, Turkish, and Spanish. This follows high usage of existing self-bag-drop machines, which handled roughly 1.38 million pieces of luggage last year and are expected to process 1.5 million this year.
